'Sewerby Squirrels' – held at Sewerby Hall and Gardens for under fives and their families - is held in the Orangery on Mondays from 10am -11.30am, during East Riding term-time.
All the sessions feature activities based on seasonal events, Edwardian life, and exhibits which are on display at Sewerby Hall. Each session includes a sensory area and quiet corner.
The session on 4 June will be a Wash Day, when the Squirrels will be able to enjoy using a dolly tub, hang out washing, and (depending on the weather) water play. On 11 June, there will be Amy Johnson themed craft, with a chance to decorate a bird with colourful feathers.
Monday 18 June will feature Garden Explorers, looking at minibeasts and building a bug hotel. Appropriate outdoor clothing will be required. The session on 25 June will be kitchen activity, when the Squirrels will be able to investigate Edwardian jelly moulds and get messy with jelly! ( A change of clothing is recommended).
Lucy Cooke, under fives learning co-ordinator, said : "We have put together another great programme for The Squirrels in June, and hopefully the weather will allow some outdoor activities!"
The sessions are included in normal admission prices for Sewerby Hall and Gardens whilst they apply.
