The second wave of bookable workshops for the ArtWaves festival have been announced and now on sale for the highly anticipated fourth return of East Riding's leading visual arts festival being held on 12th and 13th May at Bridlington Spa.

Four new workshops have been added to the festival line up in advance of the full programme unveiling next month.

Workshops are set to take place in the week run up to the main event and across the festival weekend, bringing an elective mix of artists and art forms to the East Riding.

New artist Tracey krupianka will be taking on Watercolour and Acrylic in workshops for attendees to brush up their skills across the main festival weekend.

Returning Derwent associated artist Malcolm Cudmore will be hosting a sketching people from life workshop alongside taking on the role as lead artist for a new concept to the event, Plein Air painting. An all day workshop hosted by Malcolm will give artists a taster of the challenges and thrills of painting outside, 'Outdoor painting can be quite addictive. Prepare to catch the habit!'.

A new addition to the main festival programme is the ArtWaves Paint Out competition, a chance for artists to embrace the elements by the harbour and create a masterpiece before bringing their artworks back for judging with results being revealed alongside the Open Exhibition to close the event. All details of the Paint Out can be found on the website with guidelines and instructions on how to buy an entry.

Festival Director, Lauren Frost said, "ArtWaves is going to be bigger and better than ever with a whole series of new elements and additions to the already well received programme. I am especially excited to take the art out of Bridlington Spa and hope to see flocks of artists descending on Bridlington's iconic harbour to paint directly from the source and introduce a new dimension to the festival."

The bookable workshops form a part of a much larger festival including an Open Exhibition, free activities, demonstrations, talks, installations and much more.

All workshops are limited capacity and are anticipated to once again sell out, attendees are encouraged to buy tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Tickets can be purchased from the website or via the box office on 01262 678258.
