East Riding of Yorkshire Council is looking to recruit new foster carers for children from babies upwards.
The council is holding drop-in events in Bridlington and Hornsea where staff will be on hand to discuss what is involved in becoming a foster carer. Anyone interested in fostering is welcome to pop in for a chat and to pick up an information pack.
Both drop-in sessions will be held on Thursday 2 November. A drop-in will be held at East Riding Leisure Bridlington from 9.30am to 12 noon, and the other will be held at East Riding Leisure Hornsea from 1 to 3.30pm.
The council is seeking foster carers for children of all ages, including sibling groups. There is also a need for people who are willing to be a short break foster carer for a child with a disability.
This could mean giving parents a break by looking after their disabled child for anything from a few hours a week, or a regular weekend stay. This would be in the foster carers' home and they would receive an allowance.
Prospective foster carers should ideally be over 25, they can be single, married or co-habiting and with or without families
