All Shades of Soul –The Big Soul and Motown Night

Bridlington will host a brand new event on Saturday, 25 November, with doors open from 8pm until 2am, which fans of soul and Motown will not want to miss.

'All Shades of Soul –The Big Soul and Motown Night' will see the ball room at Bridlington Spa feature all the classic hits from the golden decades of the 60s, 70s and 80s, from labels like Tamla Motown, Stax , Atlantic and Philadelphia International.
These record companies made huge international stars of the artists which recorded for them, including Stevie Wonder, The O'Jays, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Harold Melvin, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Edwin Starr and Martha Reeves.

A Northern Soul room will also be playing classics on Original 45 Vinyl format. DJs from the hugely successful Bridlington Spa Northern Soul Weekender will be playing the tunes to keep the dance floor full, featuring Wigan Casino original resident DJ Pat Brady, plus Rob Wicks, John Parker, Rob Wigley and guests.

Event organiser Pat Brady said: "It's wonderful to be promoting another exciting event at Bridlington Spa. We hope to develop All Shades of Soul –The Big Soul and Motown Night Out into a massive event to match the Northern Soul Weekender, which is now in its twelfth year and is one of the biggest events in Europe. Here's looking forward to seeing you all there on Saturday, 25 November for a great night out."

Councillor Richard Burton, cabinet portfolio holder for leisure, tourism and culture at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "Bridlington is famous for its Northern Soul Weekender and this new event will reaffirm the town's link with soul and Motown music."The council is keen to support new events that extend the season to help benefit the local economy and hopes that this event will prove popular."

The new event is being sponsored by the Bridlington Tourism Association (BTA).

Bob Hillery, chairman of the BTA, said: "We are delighted to be sponsoring All Shades of Soul, a new out-of-season event to bring a great night of soul and Motown music to Bridlington."The BTA have also worked closely with the organisers to provide cheaper direct booking prices for those coming to the event. We wish it every success and we hope all have a great night on 25 November."
