Marton Grange is an award winning stylish, elegant and select Grade II listed Georgian Country House Hotel set in 2 acres of private grounds. The Hotel is situated in the delightful rural hamlet of Sewerby cum Marton located between the village of Sewerby and Danes Dyke. We are proud to be the only guest house in this part of East Yorkshire to receive the prestigious AA 5 Stars.
Situated in a quiet country location between Bridlington and Flamborough, on the B1255, we have lovely surrounding countryside with plenty of interesting historical sites, areas that are wonderfully rich in wildlife and places of outstanding natural beauty to visit. These include Danes Dyke, Sewerby Park, Bempton RSPB Reserve, and Bridlington Links Golf Course. Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs encompass an outstanding stretch of coastline, famed for it's colonies of nesting seabirds and is very close by..
Marton Grange is an ideal base for touring North and East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire Moor National Park, Whitby, the historic city York and the County Town of Beverley with its wonderful gothic Minster. The house is also an ideal location for those wishing to walk or cycle the adjacent Heritage Coastline.
Marton Grange, once a Georgian farmhouse has been completely restored and improved into as The Guardian said "an oasis in a desert". Great care and attention has been lavished on this comfortable home making it into very special accomodation and destination point for all our guests. Hopefully you will find it a real home from home.
All of our 11 luxurious bedrooms are en-suite with showers; all are decorated with contemporary, restful décor and sparkling shower rooms. The hotel has a lift to the first floor, no steps to the ground floor and also has 3 ground floor bedrooms (one with Level 2 walking disabled facilities), and level access into the building and all ground floor facilities. The Hotel has a lift to the first floor and guests have access at all times with own key provided so they can come and go as they please.
We have created two types of bedroom accommodation. Premier rooms are situated in the older part of the Georgian House and offer larger, airy bedrooms with an excellent standard of décor and fittings. There are three king size bedded rooms, two doubles and two twin bedded Premier Rooms.
Classic Rooms are in the newer part of the house. These have been decorated in a more contemporary style and offer either double or twin-bedded accommodation.
Marton Grange has two comfortable drawing rooms on the ground floor. These are traditionally furnished and have lovely views to extensive grounds. French windows open onto a sunny south facing garden terrace to the front. Whilst there is no bar, guests can enjoy drinks in the lounges or conservatory as we are fully licensed for residents and their visitors. A wide selection of drinks are normally available until 10.30 pm.
Guests breakfast in two large interconnecting dining rooms, decorated in relaxing colours and tables set with crisp cloths. The breakfast menu is extensive and offers our guests something special to start the day. Whenever available local produce is used, including our own hen's eggs - when they decide to lay!
There is private parking, including a disabled parking space, in the grounds towards the rear of the Hotel.
Regrettably there are no facilities for small children.
Pets are welcome in Classic Rooms only by arrangement for a small nightly fee of £5.00.
