Stef Mitchel Exhibition at Sewerby Hall - Aug 29, 2010 - 8:35:13 AM
Sewerby Hall and Gardens will be running an exhibition of work by Scarborough-born artist Stef Mitchell from Saturday, 4 September until the end of the season.
Stef’s work stems from a continued interest in the landscape, living in it, walking through it and the memory of it and does not seek to produce a recognisable representation but rather a sense of place and an understanding of the processes evident in nature.

Children learning how to stay safe in the water will visit the beach to find out how lifeguards operate on the shore.
For the past year young people have learnt special lifesaving skills which could help them to save themselves and know what to do if others get into difficulty in the water

FRIENDS OF AMERICAN OLD TIME MUSIC AND DANCE AUTUMN GATHERING AT SEWERBY HALL - Aug 24, 2010 - 9:46:31 AM
Sewerby Hall and Gardens will be hosting the autumn gathering of Friends of American Old Time Music and Dance (FOAOTMAD) on Saturday, 4 and Sunday, 5 September, from 11am to 3pm.
FOAOTMAD aims to encourage and assist people and groups to play, dance and listen to American old-time music and dance within the UK, as well as maintaining a membership database of players, dancers and bands.

Snow White will take to the stage at the prestigious East Coast venue as she seeks to overcome the wicked Queen - played by Nolan Sister Denise Nolan - and her henchman Herman, played by Warrior from Gladiators, Daniel Singh.
