Jungle River ride |
This seemed strange. Trying to recover from a recession then it would have made sense to open on a holiday week-end. It would most certainly have been great for business. I found out later that there is apparently a law preventing garden centres of a certain size from opening on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day. It doesn't make sense to me as there can't possibly be anything better than gardening for enjoyment over a holiday! Except of course walking on the beach.
Talking to my friend Diane owner of the Shell and Gift shop on the harbour, Sunday was by far the best day weatherwise as there was no wind and it was fairly warm compared to what we have experienced recently.
Jerome's cafe was packed and we gave up trying to find some seats and went into town where we found the Secret Garden cafe was open. While enjoying a cup of coffee and a sit down after a fairly long walk we looked outside and hailstones were coming down. How quickly our weather can change.
I did miss seeing the "Bridlington Eye on the Bay" but at least there are several new rides the most popular still being the Jungle River ride.
Hope you all had good Easter Week-end,
Marion
