There is no doubt that Bridlington supports all sorts of interests, last week-end being one of the busiest due to the motor scooter rally at the Spa. I am informed that it was so busy around the harbour that it was like a summer's day. The shops were all open and doing fine.

On Wednesday the Expo was on in the Spa Theatre.  More of interest to people running businesses in the area but it does make further use of the facilities and of course our own Bridlington.net was there.

Today I had a visit to the library in Martongate where the Bridlington Art Society are having an exhibition. The paintings are superb and wouldn't be out of place in any of the countries well known art galleries. They are still going to be there on Friday from 10am to 5pm but Saturday 10am to noon will be your last chance to view them.

Sewerby Hall will be closed from this week-end and the land trains wil be coming to a halt for the winter. The zoo and the grounds will still be open and so will the cafe but please check the times on the Sewerby Hall website.

The wintery weather has been the surprise of the week and we were still having rain with hailstones today. Hallowe'en tomorrow then apart from the Firework display next Wednesday we are on the countdown to Christmas. The garden centre has a lovely display of all things Christmassy, which reminds me I still have some tulip bulbs to plant.

Happy Hallowe'en,

Marion
