I have enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in the Gardens at Sewerby Hall. Entry to the gardens is now free now that the summer visitors have gone.

The animals are being moved out of the fields and into their winter quarters. I am sure I have taken a photo of a Llama and not a strange kind of sheep, the notice on the fence did say "sheep".

The Hall is now being used for various activities. On the 30th October there will be a Children's Hallowe'en Workshop making Illuminated Lanterns  followed by a Hallowe'en Magical Walk  on the 31st.

On December the 13th the Festival of Christmas begins and I remember the lovely floral displays by Bridlington ladies flower arranging club last year. So it is worth looking up the website and keeping up to date with the events.

The trees are now turning their Autumn colours so the photographers are out and about. In the Walled gardens the last of the Summer bedding plants are being taken out and replaced by the Winter ones.

The Squirrels were particulary evasive today as one lady tried to feed them but for some reason they didn't like the nuts that she had brought with her. No problem with the Squirrels in Scarborough apparently as they were happy to eat them. I wonder if it matters which area they are in as to what they prefer to eat? Maybe they are already well fed at Sewerby Hall?

Another photographer was having problems getting the Squirrels to stay in one place, five of them gathering in one spot but too far away to get a good picture.

I had my husband with me of course, so we popped into the Clock Tower Cafe to have a coffee. That is still very busy. It makes you realise how lucky people are in Bridlington to have two super beaches and Sewerby Hall gardens as well. There is so much space and at this time of year it is so peaceful. Who needs to go to foreign countries with this on the doorstep!
