I loved this striking spray of flowers.
Bridlington Priory Flower Festival
, something not to be missed. This event is a part of the Old Town Summer Festival this year and is not likely happen again for another two years.

I decided I would like to hunt down the giant Peacock that was featured in the local paper which it said was "outside the Priory Church Rooms in the Old Town". Persuading my husband. Jim, that we needed a walk we set off for the Priory Church not exactly knowing where we had to look for this bird.

We arrived at the Church and were reading the notices when we were told we

ought to go in as there was a wonderful display inside. So we did! The programme is £2.00 on entry, the fee going towards the upkeep of the Church. As you enter you will find there are so many colourful flower arrangements (47) each one given a hymn as inspiration for the design and dedicated to a variety of people. Having been in the Priory before, I went straight to the shop to buy a permit to take some photos, some of which I have put in this entry. Please ask for a permit which costs £2.50 before you take any photos in the Priory Church.  A small price to pay for this privilege.

The Flower Festival is on until the 13th Of July. You will find there is a warm welcome in the Priory and lots of enthusiastic volunteers, all passionate about the Church, so if you need information don't hesitate to ask. Refreshments are available to purchase as well.

A concert is being held in the Priory Church tonight and on Saturday. On Sunday the 13th at 11.00 am there is a Food Fair and Show followed by another concert in the evening.

Yes! We did find the Peacock in the garden of the Priory Church Rooms where we had been directed.
