Residents of Hutton Cranswick have been invited to view new proposals for a 12-unit housing scheme in the village which, subject to planning approval, promises to deliver a wide range of affordable housing.
The plans will be on display at an open afternoon on Wednesday, 20 September between 3-6pm in the WI Hall in Hutton Cranswick.
The plans include four two-bedroomed bungalows, four two-bedroomed houses and two three-bedroomed houses, which will be offered for both affordable rent and shared ownership. Two additional houses will be offered for market sale. Local residents will be able to apply for the houses as a priority through local lettings and sales arrangements.
The houses are to be built by Partner Construction who will transfer them to Together Housing, one of the largest housing associations in the North of England
Councillor Symon Fraser, cabinet portfolio holder for asset management, housing and environment at the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "The open afternoon session will really help to show residents exactly what we are proposing to build and it will allow the council to hear and understand any local concerns. We are aware of the local need for a range of different affordable housing types in the village and hope that these proposals will go some way to meeting this need."
