As the country enjoys Bank Holiday season, and thoughts turn to long summer evenings, there's a great opportunity to enjoy a party on the beach in Bridlington in early June – with a great line-up of music to accompany the fun!
The Tidal Waves beach music Festival will feature a stage on the sand at South Beach in Bridlington on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 June.
The weekend will feature fun for families, including face painting, and sets from a local DJ between the acts. There will be bars and refreshments on site.
Friday 9 June will feature local bands and local music, in an evening event from 7pm. International trance act Enigma UK open the festival on the Friday evening; sharing billing with the renowned local folk duo, Seafret.
Also appearing will be country singer Gracie Falls, indie and Brit-pop group Capital Eye and alternative female-fronted guitar band The Brontes, and local singer/songwriter Jack Parker.
Saturday's programme, starting at 12 noon, will see The Hoosiers, Reverend and the Makers, Toploader and The Pigeon Detectives, supported by local rock group Big Me, Hull-based alternative ska-core band Counting Coins, Bridlington's three-piece soulful mod group Page 45, rock, blues and indie group from Hull The Raywells, five-piece guitar-driven post rock indie pop band Vague. Louder than Life, an audience-participation samba and kettle-drum group will also add to the mix during the event.
Festival director Kirsty Dingle said : "This is a superb line-up of music across the weekend, and what a setting! South Beach is not covered at high tide, so people don't need to worry about getting wet! But they will be able to enjoy this unique event with great views across the bay as the sun sets on both evenings, whilst enjoying a party atmosphere!"
Tickets for the full weekend are priced at £50 for adults, or £30 for children and also for students in full time education. For the Friday night only, tickets cost £16. For the Saturday only, the adult ticket is £38. There is also a child ticket available for the Saturday only, priced at £20.
There will be a platform for wheelchair users (restricted to 30 plus one carer/friend).
Tickets can be booked via www.tidalwavesfestival.com, or the Bridlington Spa box office on 01262 678258, and in person.
