P R O G R A M M E :

Monday, May 25th, 1935

4.00am Leave Bridlington (Breakfast on train)
10.09am Arrive Edinburgh. Party proceeds to Edinburgh Castle, where the various historical rooms will be inspected
11.20am Leave Castle and proceed to St Giles' Cathedral, and then to
11.55am City Chambers, where the party will be received by the Lord Provost of Edinburgh (Sir William L. Sleigh)
12.30pm Lunch at Victoria Hall, Leith Street
2.00pm Proceed by motor charsabanc via London Road, Abbey Hill, Holyrood Palace, Canongate, passing John Knox's House, Tron Church, City Chambers, St Giles' Cathedral, Lawnmarket, Johnston Terrace, passing the Castle, West End, Queen Street, Inverkeith Row passing Botanic Gardens, Ferry Road, Davidson's Mains, Barnton, Cramond Brig and running alongside Lord Rosebery's Estate to Forth Bridge, Queensferry, Dundas Castle, Kirkliston, Turnhouse Aerodrome, Corstophine, Zoological Park, Donald's Hospital and West End to the Mound
5.00pm Tea at Victoria Hall. After tea, go as you please until
9.30pm Depart from Edinburgh (Supper on train)


The following places of interest are within a few minutes of Princes Street:

The Museum, Chambers Street, open until 5pm. Admission free
The Scottish Art Galleries, Princes Street, open until 5pm. Admission free.
Carlton Hill, Waterloo Place, Nelson Monument, etc.
The Braid Hills, the City's golf course. A very fine view of the City and its surroundings can be obtained from here. Tram fare, 3d.
Portobello seaside resort. Tram from Princes Street. Fare 3d
Queensferry. The Priory Church of St Mary is very interesting and should be visited


Theatres & Music Halls:

Theatre Royal, Broughton Street: Two houses 6.45 and 8.45
Empire Theatre, Nicolson Street: Two houses 6.45 and 8.45
King's Theatre, Leven Street. One house, 7.30

It is particularly requested that all passengers make the return journey in the same compartment as on the outward journey.

Persons not holding tickets for breakfast and supper on train must not travel in dining coaches, but in corridor coach specially provided.
